Magic Violin

The "Magic Violin" allows musically totally inexperienced people to play and create magical sounds by striking its body with a violin bow.

The installation supports the musical playfulness and tempts the player to try and follow the sequence of notes of the underlying Spohr composition... and to vary the tone by thaving a go at different bowing techniques and even alternative manners of treating the instrument in order to produce interesting sounds!

Anything goes!

Playing the violin is difficult - especially Louis Spohr's compositions! That's right, of course! But this magic violin has no strings... which makes playing much easier!
